Time

time
I've found I haven't been as enthusiastic about sitting down to compose posts lately. I know this happens to a lot of us. After recent events, it's just been important to me to spend my time with Saskia in the moment, and not thinking about how I can capture what's going on. The desire will be back though. Already I can feel it creeping in... ...and when she naps, I bake or prepare slow cooked dinners.

(and of course I check out your blogs)

6 months

6 months and the Little One...
...is sitting up like a little lady (and has been for a few weeks now) reaching out for toys...and her Mama's arms when she's tired (melt)
...just adores her Grandfather...a daily visitor, straight from school, 'just dropping off the paper'
...has been surprising her Mama with 2 x 2 hour sleeps a day
...loves playing with wooden blocks (and sending them tumbling), stacking rings, the noisy yellow car and the little blue-capped driver, wormie (always wormie), and is mesmerised by the spinning top
...squeals, squarks, babbles, giggles...
...is rarely quiet...and still (exhausting, but I love this so)
...gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, as if to propel herself forward
...slept through her first Easter egg hunt in Vovo's garden
...uses those beautifully chubby hands to ever-so delicately lift objects, inspecting from all angles, using both hands without a clear preference
...is fondly referred to as Little Firecracker by Tia Carla, and is collecting quite a few other nicknames already
...doesn't believe in clean windows
...makes her mama and papa realise they are living the life they always hoped they'd live

Saskia, on your 6 month birthday you said goodbye to your Vovo. He loved you with all his heart, my darling. He was so happy he was able to meet you.

Your first trip to the National Folk Festival with Grandfather, Little One.

You loved the crowds, the coloured flags, the Bubble Man, playing with your new little friend Josie on the rug, and bouncing on Grandfather's knee and listening to the bluegrass band.

Mama was pretty excited about introducing you to Peter Combe. She's such a dag.
